Your U-Boot will undergo inspection for repairs and refit, and then into drydock.  In the meantime, you are
cleared to send your men on leave. Report back when your U-Boot is ready for its next patrol.

After having successfully completed your third major combat patrol, sinking 176,292 tonnes of Allied merchant ships, I take great
pleasure in presenting you with the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes (Knights Cross).


For continued demonstration of bravery before the enemy and excellence in commanding U-128 in American waters during Operation
Paukenschlag and accumulating over 200,000 tons of merchant shipping, you are also hereby awarded the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub
(Knights Cross with Oak Leaves).


It is a rare occasion that I have the opportunity to present multiple high honours to one Kommandant during a single ceremony. I am
extremely proud to present you with the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern (Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords) for
demonstrating continued excellence as a U-Boote Kommdandant during Operation Paukenschlag and having sunk 47 Allied merchant
ships, totalling 399,395 tonnes.


 
I offer my sincere gratitude on this momentous occasion. Congratulations for a job well done!
