Alas, we head out on patrol again after a luxurious 28 days ashore in our Fatherland. The mood on board is mixed as we sail away from our beautiful country once more, but that feeling of despondency is soon replaced with a firey resolve to end this war as soon as possible!
OOC: Apologies Blitzkrieg for the incorrect date! I set S3C to 28 days in port so i am not sure what went wrong there. I will make every effort to get it right next time!

Our first kill of the patrol! A granville freighter of around 4500 tonnes has been sent to the bottom west of Ireland, and with only one torpedo! Thankfully the magnetic detonator worked as intended. It is hard not to feel sorry for the survivors in this awful Atlantic weather. We press on to our patrol area.

The waters around the Western mouth of the English Channel have proved to be an excellent hunting ground. Thanks to the help of our deck gun, we have managed to already sink 3 merchant ships for the cost of only 3 torpedos, totalling 11,500GRT! There are numerous English patrol ships lurking about though, and poor visibility due to Atlantic storms has caused us to spend much of our time submerged. Still, morale onboard remains high! Once 24hrs have passed we will report our sucess to BdU.

Arrived in patrol area on 30th June. Patrolled for 3 weeks sinking roughly 55,000GRT of merchant shipping. This was due to extremely calm seas allowing for extensive use of our deck gun! 3 torpedoes left. Request BdU Advice on whether to contunue hunting with 3 torps or begin journey home so to reach Kiel before 31st August.

On station patrolling grid BF26. Clouds clear, precipitation none, visibility far, wind speed 7m/s direction 236. No contacts thus far.

Patrolled grid BF26. Sank 1 coastal freighter with one torpedo. Later encountered a large convoy in the mouth of the channel including the British battleship HMS Rodney! Fired our remaining two torpedos into the convoy. One struck Rodney causing her to sit low in the water and list heavily. She appears to be severely damaged! The other torpedo sank another medium sized merchant. This brings our total tonnage for the patrol to over 60,000GRT! As of this message U-303 is all out of torpedos and deck-geschütze ammunition. Request permission to sail back to Kiel so as to arrive before 19400831.

Back to Kiel once more! The men are overjoyed to finally be back home after an arduous patrol at sea. Their effort has been worthwhile though, as this has been an incredibly successful patrol!  Furthermore upon arrival we are greeted by the glorious view of our heavy ships KM Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, and the Lützow!
