Practice Mission DEF-Submerged attack:

Interesting positioning on this practice.  Go back for a cup of coffee, and the navigator puts us in a crappy position.

Need to visit the shop as 2 below bow hits on that med cargo and it never flinched.  Something is wrong with those T1's.

A little dissappointed.  Never like watching a cargo shop with its decks full of war supplies leaving us behind without any weapons to sink it.

Yes, those medium cargo ships tend to be the most difficult to sink in SH3.

1303 finally under, water everywhere, Immediately damage control
1304 Bow compartment damaged, forward battery compartment damaged, torpedo tube 2 damaged; bow torpedo damaged; hull damaged; command room damaged, radio room damaged, main pump damaged; fuel tanks damaged; attack periscope damaged; observation periscope damaged; hydrophone damaged; radio damaged; diesel engine damaged; Stb diesel engine damaged; Port diesel engine damaged; electric engine damaged;
1305 Many items repaired fairly quicky, but much is damaged and diesel compartment flooding
1305 Destroyers making depth charge attack runs
1306 Depth Charges in the water; Stb diesel engine damaged; port electric motor damaged; Port diesel engine damaged; compressor damaged; decoy tubes damaged; Stern quarters damaged
1326 for the last 20 minutes, the escorts have made 15 depth charge runs.  I took the men off silent running to make repairs. The men have been able to fix the electric engines, the compressor and the Stb Diesel engine.
1328 torpedo tubes repaired. medium warship sounded, so I put the men back on silent running.
1331 5 more depth charge runs, then I removed them from silent running to get some repairs.
1334 they must have heard us; 4 more depth charge runs; compressor damaged; fuel tank damaged;main pump; command room and radio damaged; Hydrophone, port and Stb diesels damaged; Port and Stb electric engines damaged.
  Need to put the boys back on silent running quick...……but must make repairs
1336 engines and much repaired, put on silent running
1358 for the last 20 minutes, we have been swaying back and forth pushing sand on the ocean floor and trying to loose the escorts.  they have made 8 more depth charge runs, but they are aft of us, we may have given them some slip.
1420 there must be other battles going on, we hear one of the escorts sinking and now can only hear one of them.
1423 able to come to pariscope depth.  Only one escort well aft and moving away
1428 back to repairs, many done quickoy
1431 no excorts in sight; surface the ship
1432 preport sent.
1446 redio message received.  we are headed to home; need repairs

After that, our boat is pretty beat up.

we looked worse for wear.......

we were very thankful to enjoy this sunset.  we all feared we would not see this again.
