Since the influx of new players, we have a variety of playing styles. Style meaning levels of realism.

The Doenitz Elite Flotilla is an ELITE group, hence that name. This means is that we do not play a game... We live it! We take history, realism, and honoring those who died in this 'Silent Service' seriously, as it is because of them, these games were modeled after.

If you are interested in learning manual targeting, and serious about it, please connect to us on TeamSpeak with days you are available to be taught. We will use CET to keep things in perspective.

Vanilla or mega mod does not matter, we can show you bare bones how to do this, but the best thing is to join our MP/Wolfpack-sessions with GWM that you can find regularly scheduled on our calendar.

We have a lot of work ahead of us, so kiss the 'sweetest girl' you know, because it is going to be a long long way from Tipperary, friend.

Thanks and have a good hunt!

As simple as it sounds, people still make mistakes using these dials after all these years!

We will start with Manual targeting 101, which will cover all the TDC buttons and what they do.

After that we will move on to calculating speeds and attack angles as part of an advanced class. In that class you will learn how to hand calculate AOB with only the tools that came with vanilla. Then we will move on to attack rings, and slides, and discs!

There is nothing more awesome in this game then manually gathering data, setting the TDC and watching the results as the target slips under the waves, which is why we are trying to get everyone in the flotilla into manual targeting, so we can advance people into the Multiplayer arena.

What you need (read our main-thread 'SOP' about all details):
  • TeamSpeak
  • Paper and pencil. Manual targeting is a process, and until you have it burned to your memory, you will want to write things down.
  • An open mind. There are many ways to calculate a manual targeting solution. Mine are simple, while others are very complex. I am going to give you tools, that will help eliminate that triangle over enemy vessels! Some of the presented ways you will keep, others you will throw away.

Manual Targeting with the Navigation Chart (good old XVII, our predecessor-flotilla)
