It appears to me that many things, if not everything in some sense, come to their end - and so does one of the oldest services around: 'gwhois.org', explains its developer Izzy Galvez on his website (https://archive.is/https://gwhois.org).

I have been using that service for ages so it goes not without deep regret that I have to rewrite portions of my network-modules, so stay tuned for updates on almost every tool I wrote for DEF as well.
