Hey veterans! Do any of you remember "SH3WEATHER.exe"? Well it goes... and SH3WRAPPER comes!
What does this patch bring?- It deinstalls SH3 Weather. S3W has been found buggy, its author has gone AWOL and does not bother to answer his emails, plus the weather issue has been solved in much more sophisticated ways by H.Sie and Stiebler as explained by Stiebler in [HOWTO] Fix the "Always-Bad-Weather-Bug" in SH3.
- It deletes these unused files
- SH3_Weather_README.txt
- SH3Weather.exe
- SH3Weather.log
- un_Setup_SH3Weather_1_5_22545.exe
- un_Setup_SH3Weather_1_5_22545.txt
- It patches S3C to no longer attempt to run "SH3WEATHER.exe" and use "SH3WRAPPER.exe" instead. Jaesen Scones big advertised in his thread he would help, but was no help at all, so I did it myself.
And what does "SH3WRAPPER.exe" do?- I designed this wrapper to be totally configurable, so that other modders can bring in their ideas on
- what 3rd party tools to run
- and in which order, all configured in a simple text file called "SH3WRAPPER.cfg"
- By default it does a quick version-check on my server and then runs "VARIETY.exe".
Standalone Installer code is included in SH3UNi
S3F is going to let you tick the checkbox to run S3C with SHxVAR
lets you pick your installation of SH3
creates %installpath%\..\TOOLS\SHxVAR
writes SHxVAR.exe, SH3VAR.cfg
lets you pick your installation of S3C
moves doc files where they belong, to documentation
patches SH3Cmdr.exe like S3H, i.e creates a mod and activates it so "mod" is listed and all files are saved
